Speech Application Testing

We at SWQA India, perform Speech or Voice Application testing for our clients wherein the voice application is tested for its Usability, Clarity of Prompts, Recognition, Different Grammars (e.g. IBM, Nuance), Response time, Number of Timeout, Number of No matches, Number of Misrecognition, Rendered VXML and Load testing.

Basic Testing of Voice Application involves the following participants:
  • User/Caller to the Voice Application: This actor will make a call and test if the flow is working properly, all the prompts are played, voice recognition is good and the response time from the application is within the permissible limit.
  • Administrator of Voice Application: This actor is a user of the administrative interface (e.g. Web application) of the voice application, who will check if all the changes like the configuration, logging, prompts etc. made by the web interface actually take place and the reports displayed are correct.
  • Test Analyst: This actor will monitor the complete system on the console as well as by using the test harness to execute the test cases. For using the harness, a console will be required from where the Test analyst will inject the data and monitor interactions of all the sub-systems.
The above mentioned testing methodology is governed by testing the following criteria:

Administrative console
  • Web Application/Client server application
  • Testing the different URLs, controls
  • Testing that actual modifications are taking place
Telephony
  • Routing of calls
  • Processing of the calls
  • Compatibility with different telephony cards (Dialogic, Acculab etc.)
  • Load testing
Different web services used in the system
  • What's the system behavior when a particular web service is down?
  • Interaction with an external system like CapScan
  • When valid data is passed via a particular web service, is it giving a valid output? For example, if one specific Post code is provided then is the system giving out valid street names?
  • What's the system behavior when invalid data is passed through the web services and what is the output?
  • Failover and recovery of the web services
  • Test for behavior of the system when one of the external systems is down
  • Behavior of the system when there is a concurrency. Check for CPU, memory usage, response time
Backend integration with Client’s system
  • Integration with client database
  • Response time of the system

Enterprise Resource Planning

We at SWQA India perform ERP testing for our clients wherein level requirements for testing of ERP is done using a test plan that covers following areas:
  • Identify existing project information and business scenarios which shall be tested
  • List recommended business functions for testing
  • Recommend and describe testing approach that will be used while testing the application
  • Identify required resources
  • List the deliverable elements of the project
The goal of this testing activity was to make the “Go-Live” decision. Sometimes due to time constraints, it is not possible to conduct the normal exhaustive testing activity. Our specialized team of people ensures proper decision making in the constrained time period decided to “Go-Live” decision on the basis of “Business Scenarios” supported by the SUT -System Under Test. The purpose of the test plan is to define a framework for identifying, prioritizing, design, executing and verifying results of tests based on “Business Scenarios”. The SUT - System Under Test is an ERP product which has to handle the transactions of a company operating out of multiple locations, dealing in multiple products conducting business multiple entities. Hence it is critical for the testing process to address the business needs at a larger level. Keep this view point in mind we follow a testing process that is driven by “Business Scenario” approach.

Usability / Accessibility Testing

Usability testing is a means for measuring how well people can use some human-made object (such as a web page, a computer interface, a document, or a device) for its intended purpose. This kind of testing will ensure that website or application has been tested properly to avoid problems that a user may come across when they visit the site, i.e. usability testing measures the usability of the object. Usability testing focuses on a particular object or a small set of objects.

Usability testing generally involves measuring how well test subjects respond in four areas: time, accuracy, recall, and emotional response. The results of the first test can be treated as a baseline or control measurement; all subsequent tests can then be compared to the baseline to indicate improvement. In terms of both potential online return on investment and baseline profit, usability testing is crucial if you want your website or application to be profitable.

Accessibility testing is used to describe the degree to which a system is usable by as many people as possible. In other words, it is the degree of ease with which it is possible to reach a certain location from other locations. Accessibility is strongly related to universal design when the approach involves "direct access." This is about making things accessible to all people (whether they have a disability or not). Accessibility can also be viewed as the "ability to access" the functionality, and possible benefit, of some system or entity.

One meaning of accessibility specifically focuses on people with disabilities and their right of access to entities, often through the use of assistive devices such as screen-reading web browsers or wheelchairs. An accessible website/intranet / online application will enable users to perform their goals easily, efficiently and successfully and both you and your customer profit.

These services will make a website/intranet / online application accessible for all types of users, regardless of age, disability or aptitude.

Our Expertise include:
